I was born and raised in California in the United States of America. When I was young, my two brothers were born at home with midwives, leaving a profound impression upon me. After undergraduate studies in reproductive health and rights, I enrolled in midwifery school through National Midwifery Institute in the United States, where I graduated in 2015. I completed my education while apprenticing in Washington State as well as with midwives in Mali and Guinea, West Africa. I have returned many times to work in West Africa alongside a community I now hold near and dear as another home. I have been blessed to have seen a huge variety of midwifery styles and experiences.
In 2015 I moved to Canada to be with my husband and completed the International Midwifery Pre-Registration Program (IMPP) in 2017. During my time at the IMPP I enjoyed immersion into the Canadian healthcare system, and worked with a busy practice in Toronto.
I am excited to start my New Registrant year with Born Midwives in Cambridge! I look forward to getting to know the community and to serving individuals and families in the area.
