I grew up in Stoney Creek, Ontario. I joined the Midwifery Education Program at McMaster University in 2003. Throughout university I did clinical learning placements in Hamilton, Burlington, Cambridge, and Scotland earning my Bachelor of Health Sciences in Midwifery and graduating in 2007 with Honours. Since graduation I have practiced at Cambridge Midwives from 2007-2012, and while awaiting funding for Born Midwives, was blessed to be taken on as a locum at Kitchener-Waterloo Midwifery Associates . I was the Chief of Midwifery at Cambridge Memorial Hospital from January of 2011 to May 2013 and am currently the hospital rep for our clinic and a core-team member of the MoreOB (Managing Obstetrical Risk Effectively) program. I very much enjoy working with and teaching students and helping to grow the profession is one of my passions.
I feel strongly about the tenets of midwifery care, believing that all women equipped with information, will make the best decisions for themselves and their families. During my few years of practice, I have found that every pregnancy is a journey with lots to be learned and discovered along the way.
