Mitra Sadeghipour
Registered Midwife
I earned my B.Sc. in Midwifery from the International Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran. I practiced midwifery in many settings in Iran from 1990 to 2002 and conducted over 1000 deliveries. I became registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in 2004 and worked as a Registered Nurse at the labour and delivery ward in Etobicoke General Hospital for a year to become familiar with the Canadian health care model. I successfully completed the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program (IMPP) to become a Registered Midwife in Ontario with the College of Midwives of Ontario (CMO) in 2005. I did my clinical placement in Alliston, and proudly worked with Family Midwifery Care of Guelph from 2007 to 2013. I have a specific interest in improving access to midwifery care for special needs populations, and I am strong support of breast-feeding. Currently, I am an active clinical preceptor, Neonatal Resuscitation instructor, and Fetal Health Surveillance instructor. I speak both English and Farsi fluently. I am excited to work in Cambridge.
