Krysta Barclay

Registered Midwife

I was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario but have called the tri-city area home since 2009. I entered the Midwifery Education Program in 2012 and graduated from Laurentian University with an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2018.  I completed clinical placements in various Ontario communities including Thunder Bay, Barrie, Kitchener-Waterloo, and London. I started practicing midwifery in Windsor in 2018. Initially wanting to be a high school music teacher, I graduated from Lakehead University in 2010 with an Honours Bachelor of Music.

I strive to provide midwifery care which is trauma-informed, client-centered, and rooted in the most up-to-date evidence-based research. I have a passion for teaching and am an active clinical preceptor for the Midwifery Education Program. I also facilitate a series of community-based prenatal classes throughout the year.

In 2016 and 2020, my husband and I welcomed our children into the world with the assistance of Born Midwives. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time exploring the outdoors with my children, and being creative by sewing, scrapbooking, baking, and gardening. I am elated to continue practicing midwifery with Born Midwives and look forward to meeting and working with you and your families!
